Students studying meeting and event management at four universities in the United States and Australia were recipients of the 2015 EventsAIR Rising Star Scholarship.
Students studying at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona), Griffith University, TAFE Blacktown and TAFE Granville all received scholarships in recognition of their scholastic efforts.
In addition, student Alexandra Yates at Cal Poly Pomona was recognized globally as the EventsAIR Rising Star Student of the Year for her outstanding efforts while studying meeting management at the college.
Professor Margie Ferree Jones, Ph.D. worked with Alexandra during her studies and highly recommended her for the Rising Star scholarship award.
“Alexandra truly exemplifies the high educational standards we have here at The Collins College of Hospitality Management,” Professor Jones said. “It was wonderful to see her recognized at the Student of the Year. Alexandra is conscientious, exceptionally hard-working, and focused. She is currently working several jobs including teaching hospitality at a sister CSU campus. As a new mother, she is working hard to manage school, a career and a family.”
Professor Jones noted that the powerful EventsAIR platform provided an outstanding basis for instructing future meeting organizers.
“EventsAIR provided a great foundation for our meeting management course,” Professor Jones said. “It’s powerful with great capabilities and our students really learn important skills that they can take with them as they enter the world of meeting management.”
Based on Centium’s award winning event management software, the Rising Star educational program for aspiring event and meeting planners has been provided to universities and colleges around the globe since 2006. Students have undertaken in depth training covering all aspects of EventsAIR, the latest generation of event management software from the professionals at Centium Software.
“Students pursuing qualifications in hospitality or event management will also attain certification in EventsAIR, which will prove to be an extremely valuable addition to a student’s resume. We’ve had thousands of students graduate in institutions worldwide and we are expecting many more to participate in the EventsAIR Rising Star program in the coming years,” said Trevor Gardiner CEO, Centium Software.
The scholarships won by these students form part of Centium Software’s global scholarship program where scholarships have been awarded since 2005.
